Named for its venerable benefactor, a former U.S. senator from Hawaii and his wife, the Inouye Chair brings intellectuals to campus to discuss the cause of democracy in America. While on island, lectures and panel discussions fill out the speaker’s stay, many of which require news and social media promotion and printed posters on campus. I’ve been honored to support public engagement with the university in these promotional capacities for several years. My design approach involves researching the speaker's work and responding with forms befitting the focus and tenor of each lecture or event.
An independent public engagement entity of the university, the Better Tomorrow Speaker Series works with themes of more timely, societal concern. My work for BTSS follows a similar program to that of the Inouye Chair but with a more robust promotion effort beyond the university community.
